Jon is a director with the firm. He practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, and labor and employment. Prior to joining the firm, Jon was a litigator at a large Portland law firm. In that position, Jon successfully defended a town and school department before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court in a legal challenge to the Maine Tort Claims Act, see Searle v. Town of Bucksport, 2010 ME 89; and he prevailed in overturning an audit decision of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services, see Family Crisis Services, Inc. v. Maine Department of Health and Human Services, (Me. Super. December 4, 2009). On behalf of individual clients, Jon has obtained exceptional results for both plaintiffs and defendants in civil court, and he has defended numerous clients against criminal charges in both State and Federal Court.

Before becoming an attorney, Jon was a Sergeant with the Portland Police Department, where his responsibilities included complex investigations in criminal and employment matters, collective bargaining, and supervising training and development. In 2005, Jon was the recipient of the Robert B. Ganley Public Service Award, the City of Portland's highest employee honor.

Jon lives in Scarborough with his wife Janel, daughter Eliana, and son Joseph. Jon is also a professional musician, currently performing with Time Pilots, a successful local music group.
